Good Morning! I really loved reading Sahara Special. Anyone who wants to be a writer should read this book. It talks a lot about the power of words and a writer's way of seeing the world. The author also really made me think about how our society often judges people before we get to know them. Two of the most important characters were misjudged until someone (their teacher and classmates) took the time to get to know them and find their "secret person" hiding inside.
The adult book I've just started is The Shack. I am very fascinated by the story so far. The beginning introduces the setting of the book, the Northwest region of the United States. The author described it so well, it's where I want to go for my next vacation. I'm curious to see the deep blue lakes formed by glaciers and the high canyons that he described. Wallowa Lake State Park sounds like a beautiful place. I hope to get their some day. I've included a picture that really seems to fit what the author, William P. Young was describing. This is the very beginning of the book. I've noticed that sometimes it takes the author a long time to get into 'the exciting' part of the story. This book has been a bit hard for me to become hooked on because it's taking a long time to introduce the main characters, setting, and problem, but it has been recommended to me by Miss Matthias and my friend Mrs. Ransom, so I will stick with it for a bit more.
